In the last few years I’ve worked as an Agile Coach at Santander UK, the BBC, and the Football Association. This has involved helping a number of teams each at a different stage of maturity.
But what does an Agile coach do?
It is a question I often asked myself since first coming across the role in about 2012.
The short answer is just to drop the word Agile and ask:
What does a coach do?
And broadly a coach helps an individual or a group of individuals improve. To get further towards a goal the individual has set.
It might be greater happiness. It might be sporting ability. It might be realising dreams.
In a business context an Agile coach often brought in to help an organisation transform and find better ways of working.
